BUILDING RESTRICTIONS

Use of independent contractor
Exhibitors must notify Congrex Sweden AB on intent to use an independent contractor.

Please e-mail to wac2005exhibition@congrex name of the company, contact person, phone, fax, e-mail and invoicing address.

Please note that the exhibitor and any stand-building company commissioned by him are obliged to adhere to the regulations in force concerning labour relations and social security. In particular they must observe the regulations relating to social security contributions, including those for part-time or temporary employment (registration, social security card).

Height of structures and signs

The height of constructions shall not exceed 2.5 m for single-storey and 6 m for two-storey stands. Exceptions concerning these limits will be given at the sole discretion of the Technical Exhibition Services Division, taking stand location and design into consideration.

Approval must be sought for stands exceeding 3 m, multi-storey stands and for special constructions (such as bridges, stairs, cantilever roofs and galleries). Please see order forms.

In the case of one-storey stand structures not exceeding 3 m in height for use in the hall, it shall not be necessary to submit plans for approval.

The backs of walls facing neighbouring stands must be kept white, neutral and clean. In the case of advertising structures facing directly adjoining stands, there must be a minimum distance of 2 m to the edge of the stand concerned.

Exhibition stands shall be so designed that they contain no rooms, corners or niches that are difficult to access. Each partitioned area within the stand must be sufficiently visible from the exhibition area or the exhibition hall. Areas that are only accessible by way of another partitioned area (closed areas) are not permissible unless provided with a second escape exit.

Flashing or changing lights must not be used.

Partition walls

Partition walls will be set up by request only, with the cost being borne by the exhibitor concerned. To order partition walls please see order forms.

Floor

The stand floor must be adequately covered, for instance with carpeting or carpet tiles (included in the shell scheme stands). Adhesive fixing of floor coverings to hall floor is permitted only with double-sided adhesive fabric tape. After the end of the exhibition floor coverings and adhesive tapes must be removed again. If any adhesive tape remains on the hall floor after the exhibition, the exhibitor will receive a bill to cover the cost of its removal

The use of wooden platforms is recommended for stands with water pipes and/or a lot of electrical wiring; your stand erection firm will be able to advise on this matter. Exhibitors who use such platforms should bear in mind that:

• the maximum height allowed, measured from floor level to the top of the platform is 10 cm
• the platform sides must be closed and neatly finished
• platforms should be placed within the stand perimeter
• the height of the walls, incl. the wooden platforms should be 2,5 m

Exhibitors whose stand have raised floors are requested to ensure that their stand is accessible to the disabled, for instance, by employing sloping stand edges o by adding ramps.

Stand fittings

Exhibits must be displayed in such a way as not to obstruct the view of the exhibition area or of adjacent stands and they must be kept within the stand perimeter. Dangerous components must be asked permission for by the Organiser.

Food and drinks

It is not allowed to bring any kind of food and drink into the exhibition hall, or to have them brought into the hall by others and store them on the premises, unless said food and drink has been obtained from the catering service supplied by the organiser. Please see order forms.

Suspension units from the ceiling of the hall

Structures for lighting may be suspended from the ceiling of the hall. Structures for carrying exhibits or stand components may not be suspended from the ceiling. The maximum weight that can be suspended from a point is 100 kg. To order suspension please see order forms.

Planning permission

Each installer of an exhibition stand bears individual responsibility for its structural design, installation and operation, as well as for compliance with all legal stipulations applying to texhibitions and fairs, and with the terms of participation set out by the Organiser.

Every exhibitor is obliged to check whether each temporary construction designed or built by himself or a third party, in the hall, requires planning permission. If you are in doubt, please ask the Organiser or the appointed contractor.

Planning permission is required in the case of:
- multi-storeyed stands and constructions
- glass structures such as parapets, wall elements and floors made of glass
- constructions and exhibits which are subjected to unusual loads (staircases, bridges. balconies, cantilever roofs etc.)

If it is intended to erect a construction of these types at the Munich trade fair grounds, an application for planning permission must be submitted to Messe München's Technical Exhibition Services Division, using their form, please see order forms.
